Understanding Search Results

The results always display two types of matches:

1. Price Comparison

With one click, you can access a comparison of all offers listed for this product. In some cases, you can also choose between different product variations.

This type of result is typical for very popular and current products.

2. Direct Offer

Here, you see the retailer and shipping details directly. Clicking on these results will take you straight to the shop without a price comparison.

These results usually appear for very specific or unique items that cannot easily be grouped into a price comparison. This applies, for example, to craft supplies, collector's items, or less common products. You will also frequently find eBay offers here.

Search Tips

Precise Attributes

If you're looking for a specific device with exact specifications, our search will likely provide many relevant results. For example: "Apple iPhone 256 GB without contract green" works well.

However, broad or unclear search terms may return too many unrelated results. "Bicycle rack" might return various accessories for bicycles, not just racks.

Since idealo tries to show as many relevant results as possible, the best approach is to narrow down your search by selecting the appropriate categories.

 

Less could be more

If you don’t have exact specifications or simply want some inspiration, starting with a single keyword can be a great approach.

After that, you can refine your search using filters: Color, manufacturer, price, features - everything you need should be available.

This way, you can find your perfect product step by step!

 

Why Do I Have to Solve a CAPTCHA?

In some cases, you may be asked to complete a security check (CAPTCHA).

This is to prevent automated bots from scraping all prices on our platform. idealo is meant for real people who want to save money - not as a data source.

This happens especially when searching for product numbers (EANs) or other codes. Of course, you’re welcome to use the product number to compare prices, but please understand that our system may check whether you're a human in such cases.
